Distribution Technology for Delivery Today

What's New with e-Courier Software?

Dispatch Tools and Technologies

The DMS2 dispatch program was written using the latest Microsoft “.Net” development tools and allows you to select which data appears for the dispatcher, and to re-size areas of the dispatch screen and display a map of stops automatically from dispatch. On the map you can display locations of unassigned pickups, the locations of the nearest drivers to a pickup, the stops currently assigned to a drivers manfiest, as well as various other data points. If desired, the dispatch can be displayed across dual monitors, with the unassigned jobs displayed on one monitor, and the driver manifests and their current demands displayed on the other. Communications with the drivers from dispatch can occur with various devices including web enabled phones, java capable phones or devices, and/or more sophisticated hand held units that run the Windows Mobile operting system.

Agent Console Upgrades

The Agent Console, which can be used for communications with your agents as well as pay reconciliation with your drivers, has been upgraded. It now allows for customer specific input requirements by your agent. For example, if you client requires only drivers with security clearances be used for their deliveries, there is a mechanism for validating that. If your client requires a custom inspection of their freight be done upon pickup or delivery, those specific inspection forms can be printed. Additionally, a BOL with your carrier information can be printed by the agent to move with the freight. They can also input an airbill number for inbound fright so your drivers can have that information when picking up the freight at a terminal or airport.

Java Phones, Windows Mobile, and GPS

The java and Windows Mobile programs are continually being updated to run on devices supporting these languages. In both cases, the driver/carrier can carry the GPS-enabled devices allowing their location to be tracked. In addition, if desired you can make use of the bar code scanning capability of the devices for piece level tracking. The Windows Mobile units often are deployed with signature capture capability as well. Normal dispatching, tracking and POD functions are standard with these programs
